ABOUT THE
PUBLIC SAFETY PROGRAM
In collaboration with state and local authorities, ETCOG has been designated as the primary organization responsible for the planning and coordination of Emergency 911 Communications in East Texas. We collaborate with the State to ensure the implementation of advanced 911 services for wireless callers and contribute to the strategic planning of Next Generation 911.
Furthermore, we provide support to first responders and contribute to regional disaster planning by partnering with the Texas Office of the Governor to coordinate Criminal Justice and Homeland Security Planning.
The Department of Public Safety encompasses three distinct program areas.
We conduct regional planning activities for each of these three program areas.
This includes oversight of our Regional Police Training and Regional Juvenile Services programs.
